Governments are protecting farmers against GMO
Unfortunately, not the US government. But in South America, wide-spread health and environmental disasters have forced them to take action. In Europe, less than .06 percent are planted with GM crops. See the full article here.

Thanks for the article! I'm hugely against Monsanto and do what I can to boycott them, and think that GMO products are the dirty underbelly of agriculture, and is sliding in quietly under the radar with most people totally oblivious to what is going on.
